I felt very honored to be a part of the 2nd Annual No Longer 5k and Silly Sock Fun Run! This was my 2nd year to be able to capture not just another 5k but what feels like a family reunion! Everywhere you looked people where laughing, giving hugs or high fives, or learning about the needs of the world! The No Longer 5k is so much more than just a run; people of all ages and experience participated. I saw the seasoned runner all the way to a 70 year old with a cane. I mean does it get any better than that!!! I have participated in many 5k's (ok not running) as a photographer and this one just hits home. There is so much more information online about No Longer but this one item just really pulled at my heart... "147 million children with no parents, no family at Christmas, no HOME. If all of the world’s orphans were a nation, they would be the 9th largest nation in the world."
A group of 9 believers are doing something about that statistic! Through No Longer around 40 children in the Dominican Republic will have a village to call home. A village with several homes (with a “momma” in each home), a school, a feeding center, showers, farm land, and sewing centers to help the community learn a trade in order to break the cycle of poverty. Wow what an amazing gift to give these wonderful children! If you would like more information about No Longer, please click on this link.
Will you join me in praying for No Longer and their continued work in the Dominican Republic?

Just a little glimpse into the fun we had on April 5th, keep scrolling down! I hope you will join in the fun next year!
* Did I mention that the winner's medals were made in Haiti? How awesome is that!
